For a person who grew up in a cold climate, the
flowers that grow in Thailand are so different, and its
hard to think of them as common. Orchids are
common, and flowers bloom year-round. Some of the
flowers grow only in the rainy season, or in the hot
season, and so there is variety to the types you will
see at a given time.
The flower to the right, with its pink and red
cotton-thread petals, blooms early in the morning, and
by late afternoon, has wilted. Some of the plants
photographed are ones that I have had for over eight
years. Some are rare, and cost quite a bit of money.
